Happy Halloween 2012

Halloween is my second favorite holiday next to Christmas. This year, I really couldn't get excited about Halloween because I have morning sickness ALL DAY and NIGHT. It's pretty miserable. But enough about me. Cohen became slightly obsessed with Jack Skellington after watching The Nightmare Before Christmas one time. He wanted a Jack Skellington Jack-o-Lantern and he wanted to be a skeleton for Halloween. Easy enough. So I bought some long underwear. Cut out bones from felt (from this template), and hand stitched them on. Ben already had skeleton pajamas.  We went trick-or-treating around our new neighborhood for the first time. The boys loved it.

 

Ben is 2!

Ben is two. Not yet terrible. Just two. He's an easy-going kid. Always smiling, unless he's having a shy moment...and then he gets a super grump face. He loves cars, pirates, and hotdogs. He's cuddly, and sweet. He thinks his big brother is pretty cool. We watch them playing sometimes and Ben copies everything Cohen does and says. I love this kid.

Disneyland!

We took the boys to Disneyland for the first time this month.

It was super crowded, but we mananged to have a perfect day.

Cohen loved Pirates of the Carribean, Treehouse, and Jungle Cruise.

Ben and Wesley LOVED It's a Small World. And the Parade that night.

Cohen is 4!

My sweet boy is turning into a big kid. It seems like overnight he has turned into this perfect four year old. Who brushes his teeth when I ask him to, and gets himself ready for bed. I thought that day would never come. He has grown up a lot this past year. He asks a lot of questions now. And has to know why everything is the way it is. He's a sensitive soul, like his dad. A recent example of this happened the other day while we were driving he asked me:

 C:  "Where do dinosaurs live?"

Me: Dinosaurs don't live anymore, they died a loonnng time ago.

C: (Bursts out in real tears) "I don't want them to DIE!"

Me: Well, they're not really dead, they are alive in Heaven with Grandpa.

C: (Stops crying immediately) "Oh."

AND THAT WAS THE END OF THAT.

 

I Love my boy Cohen. He's a very special kid and I'm so lucky to be his mom.

 

This year, we are going to Disneyland for Cohen/Ben's Birthdays. So we just had a very simple birthday for him on the 15th. Chuck-e-Cheese with his friend Connor during the day, and a Donut Cake (his request) and presents at night.

We met Grandma Becky and David at the Pumpkin Patch this year for Cohen and Ben Pre-Birthday. I love this place. The highlight of my October every year. Don't ask me why.

Summer 2012

Long time no Blog.
I miss having TIME to blog regularly.
Redecorating, Pinterest, and being a Mom has taken over my life.
Usually my life is not too exciting, so when I take four months off it's rather easy to play catch up,
BUT, these past 4 months have actually been very eventful for the Demke household.
Lots of vacations, visiting family/friends, and going to the beach. fun fun.
